Yesterday, a car accident between two vehicles in Calheta, Madeira, left six injured, four of them German and two Spanish, according to Civil Protection sources.
According to Commander Pedro Araújo, of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC), among the injured were four adults and two children.
According to a Civil Protection source, the management centre for the Regional Civil Protection service of Madeira received a call at 18:25, and a total of six vehicles and 13 operatives were mobilized to the scene, including a medical team. Two of the adults were in one vehicle, and the remaining two adults and two children were in the other.
One victim was transported to the Calheta Health Centre A&E department, and the rest were taken to the Dr Nélio Mendonça hospital in Funchal, said the same source, who did not specify how serious the injuries are.
