An earthquake registering 4.1 on the Richter scale was recorded at 07:13 on Monday morning, off the northwest coast of Porto Santo.
According to the Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea (IPMA), the quake caused no material damage and may have been felt by the population.
