Two Foreigners Assaulted

In the early hours of this morning,  two foreign individuals were hospitalized after being allegedly assaulted on Rua Princesa Dona Amélia, Funchal.

According to a hospital source, JM learned that the aggressions might be linked to excessive alcohol consumption. However, neither of the two assaulted men disclosed the reasons behind the beating.

The victims, both 41 years old, were attacked in the middle of a public road by a group of young people, according to what they revealed to the medical team at the hospital. One of the men had multiple injuries, including trauma to the arm and neck, while the other suffered from an ear injury.

A hospital source confirmed to JM that the two were admitted to the Emergency Department of the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital shortly after three o’clock, and were drunk.
