A mini 1.0 magnitude earthquake was registered at 01:58 off the south coast of Câmara de Lobos on Thursday morning.
A further two earthquakes were registered by IPMA seismographs yesterday, the 16th of January, within 20 minutes of each other.
Both quakes were classed as microtremors. The first was a 2.3 quake registered at 18:36 off the southeast coast of the Desertas Islands, while the second, a 1.7 magnitude earthquake, was recorded at 18:55 off the southwest coast of the Desertas.
