Until 20:00 this evening (December the 13th), 307 occurrences weather related incidents caused by Depression Emilia were registered, revealed the Regional Civil Protection Service.
The data shows that most incidents involved falling trees (185), followed by downed electrical networks (37) and falling construction materials (26). Other situations included mass movements, preventive risk reduction measures, danger warnings, collapses of temporary structures, and the removal of items at risk of falling.
To respond to the occurrences, 673 operatives and 321 technical means were committed. The most affected municipalities were Funchal, with 107 occurrences, Santa Cruz (67), and Machico (43), followed by Calheta, Ribeira Brava, and Câmara de Lobos. There were also situations in Santana, Ponta do Sol, Porto Santo, Porto Moniz, and São Vicente.
Among the most relevant occurrences, the Regional Civil Protection points to the collapse of a roof in a house in Santa Cruz, which forced the relocation of a person by the Municipal Civil Protection Service. According to the available information, all situations were promptly resolved at the municipal level, and there are no unresolved occurrences so far.
