Airport Conditioned for Two Days

The air operation at Cristiano Ronaldo Airport, in Madeira, may be disrupted on the 12th and 13th of December due to adverse weather conditions forecast for the Region. TAP has already warned passengers of the possibility of irregularities and recommends that they check the status of their flights before going to the airport.

The carrier also informs that customers with tickets to or from Funchal, issued until December the 11th and with trips scheduled for the 12th and 13th, can rebook for any flight until the 20th of December, at no additional cost. Changes can be made online, in the reservation management area, or through travel agencies.

With regard to the operational impact already visible, easyJet has so far recorded the cancellation of five flights connecting to Madeira: Lisbon, Porto, Bristol and Amsterdam. TAP, in turn, has not yet confirmed any cancellations, as does Ryanair. The Portuguese flag carrier operates only two flights from Lisbon to Funchal. None are planned for Porto.

Today can also be problematic due to the general strike affecting Portugal and its outermost regions.

Please check with your airline before travelling to the airport.
