New Porto Santo Viewpoint

Perched atop the cliffs of Camacha in Porto Santo, the wind flows freely, and the northern sea unfolds endlessly in a deep blue expanse. Amid the serene autumn silence and the faint sound of waves crashing below, the new Lapa Viewpoint emerges as a breathtaking gem on the island’s northern coast, now beautifully transformed into a scenic viewing platform.

Until recently, this spot was just a stretch of dirt, familiar only to a handful of locals and adventurers drawn by the sound of the sea and the allure of the views over the famous Porto das Salemas, home to the increasingly popular natural pools. There were no structures, no pavement, no barriers, just an open area with a sheer drop into the void, framed by the Islet of Fonte da Areia in the distance.

The contract for the requalification of the Lapa Viewpoint, promoted by the Municipality of Porto Santo, represented an investment of around 300 thousand euros and has resulted in a viewpoint that combines simplicity and local identity.

If you are visiting Porto Santo, this is a must-see.
