Those who enjoy spending a Sunday morning at the Santo da Sera Farmers Market are set for a disappointment as the old market is being renovated. Farmers are now forced into a single dreary tent, which is too small, hot, and crowded in summer and probably resembles a freezer in winter. Turning a thriving community market into a dingy tourist attraction.
“Once again, farmers are being disrespected and treated as third-class citizens. Crowded into a makeshift tent and expected to work in unsatisfactory conditions, especially as there are no toilet facilities on site.”
The old market site may have been a bit grim to look at, but inside was a thriving community that now seems to be broken.
