The Funchal City Council (CMF) announced today that it will forward the process of the Cortel Housing Cooperative so that the sending of the dossier to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Tax Authority, Madeira Housing Investments, and Institute of Housing and Urban Rehabilitation is approved.
At a press conference, Mayor Cristina Pedra today took stock of the internal investigation process that concluded that the municipality was found innocent of any wrongdoing, unlike Cortel, who did not comply with its statutes.
For this reason, the municipality has decided to put to the vote at the next meeting on Thursday the revocation of the municipal benefits, to the amount of 60,797.07 euros, which were awarded, and the three Local Accommodation licenses that had been awarded.
The chamber claims that, being a controlled cost construction benefitting from public money, the individual apartments cannot be used for Local Lodging (AL).Â
