The “SIGA” bus company announced that the “old” Giro cards can now be used until the end of October. Then, God willing, the new prepaid card system may come into force. Until then, the Giro cards can be bought and loaded in any “PayShop” (usually tobacco and newspaper shops).
Update: SIGA increased the ticket prices: the regular Funchal trip is now 2€, and the Aerobus costs 6.50€, always in cash.
