Yesterday afternoon, an earthquake registering 5.1 on the Richter scale was recorded in the Madeira-Tore region.
According to data provided by the Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea 9IPMA), the seismographs recorded this earthquake at 17:28, at a depth of 10 kilometers.
As DIÁRIO reported, this is the second earthquake recorded in the area within the last 30 days. On the 25th of July, a magnitude 5.7 earthquake was recorded. Although felt on the continent, no damage was reported.
The Madeira-Tore is an important underwater submarine plateau that extends over 700 km, between the north of the Madeira Archipelago and the mainland.
