SESARAM Warn of Fraudulent Messages

The Health Service of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (SESARAM) informs that fraudulent messages (sms) are being addressed to National Health Users.

“These messages, that abuse the identity of SNS 24, allege the existence of amounts owed and include ATM references for payment.  The deadline given is 5 days.  This is a scam or smishing (electronic fraud) where criminals use official entities to induce citizens to make undue payments.

SESARAM asks all patients and the population at large to be aware and not to: make any payment based on these types of messages; do not respond to or access links or bank references you are asked to look at; immediately delete any message with this content.

Please note that neither SNS 24 nor SESARAM uses SMS messages with ATM references for debt collection.
