Up until 17:00, four flights had been diverted and a further 12 cancelled due to strong winds affecting the east of the island.
ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal, through its website, advises passengers that the current weather conditions are expected to remain until tomorrow (Saturday, the 2nd of August), and that anyone travelling should contact their airline to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
