Tourists Chose Danger Over Safety

Once again tourists were seen ignoring the danger, this time with children, in Pico Ruivo.

The complaint, sent to JM, came from guides who warned of non-recommended routes being overtaken by foreigners.

Many of these routes are closed due to unstable conditions, yet tourists are ignoring the no-entry signs and risking their lives, and the potential lives of any rescue workers. What has upset the community are parents risking the lives of their children by picnicking outside safety barriers and allowing small children to be feet away from the edge of a precipice.
