An earthquake registering 1.6 on the Richter Scale was recorded by the seismographs of the Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea (IPMA) at 6:41 p.m. yesterday.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 17 kilometers, off the south coast of Funchal.
