The crematorium facilities that the Funchal City Council acquired in 2017 to incinerate pet corpses has not yet been put into use. The municipality will conclude at the end of next month the improvement works of the Vasco Gil Municipal Kennel, and at that time will deal with the authorisations and licensing necessary for the incineration unit to become operational.
Currently, there is only one licensed incineration unit in Madeira.
