Portugal will decree three days of national mourning for the death of Pope Francis. The decision will be formally taken at the Council of Ministers this Wednesday in Lisbon, to be in force between Thursday, the 24th, and Saturday, the 26th.
Luís Montenegro also revealed that Portugal should be represented at the highest level at the funeral ceremonies in Rome. Namely through the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, President of the Assembly of the Republic, Luís Aguiar-Branco, the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, and also the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Paulo Rangel.
