The whole Madeira Archipelago has been placed under a yellow warning for wind.
In a statement, the IPMA confirmed that the alert will come into force from 09:00 on Friday the 28th of March, and last until 18:00 on Saturday the 29th.
Northeast winds with gusts between 80 km/hour, will be felt in the eastern and western areas of the island of Madeira and the island of Porto Santo. This will increase to 100 km/hour in mountainous regions.
Periods of rain are expected later on this afternoon.
