Today the PSD visited the Madeira Animal Welfare association to underline the importance of work developed in the area of animal protection and welfare.
While talking to journalists, Vera Duarte highlighted that since 2015, the PSD has legislated to become a partner of the associations and institutions that work in this area. Furthermore, at that time, the PSD banned the euthanasia of pets and stray animals, a protocol they created with the municipal veterinarian and the Animal Ombudsman.
She went on to say:
“The PSD has asserted itself as a partner of a number associations to increase civic awareness of the population, to increase vaccination, to increase the number of sterilisations and, thus, promote the welfare and protection of our animals.”
