Rain Until Next Week

Forecasted rain has already begun to fall on the island, notably on the north coast and the west of the region, and is predicted to continue until the middle of next week.

Even so, and despite the forecasts indicating rain on Saturday night, the Carnival festivities, will go ahead as planned.

The guarantee is from the president of the National Institute of Meteorology and Geophysics, Vítor Prior.

Wind is expected this afternoon, in the mountainous regions, and eastern and western extremities of the island.  Gusts could affect the operability of the Cristiano Ronaldo Airport until the end of tomorrow.
