The Madeira Force Coalition, composed of the PTP (Portuguese Labour Party), MPT (Earth Party Movement), and RIR (Resuse, Include, Recycle Party), requests that the Regional Government suspend all work on the Ponta do Pargo golf course.
Raquel Coelho argues that “there are more urgent needs such as health and housing, who accused the PSD of reversed priorities. Stating that the 12 million euros that the Regional Government will spend on the golf course can be used to construct local affordable housing.”
“The Regional Government governs for the elites and the people are forgotten,” said Raquel Coelho. Having reinforced that this should be an investment made by the private sector and not with public money,” Raquel Coelho affirmed in a press release.
Construction of the new golf course is scheduled to end in 2026.
