Rain Fall Reached Red Level Limits

Yesterday’s rainfall exceeded the red warning levels at two mountain weather stations.

In other weather stations, the values also touched the limit of 60 mm per square metre in six hours.

Up until 21:00  last night the Chão do Areeiro weather station, located at 1,500m altitude, recorded rainfall reached 147.7mm per square meter (mm), in six hours, with 45.1 mm of rain falling in one hour.

In Pico Alto, at 1,100m  rainfall reached 77.3 mm/6h while Monte weather station teetered on the verge of going red with 59.3mm falling in six hours.  Not far behind was Santo da Serra with 58.8 mm.
