A Monte toboggan team were involved in an incident on Monday during a descent on the Caminho do Monte.
Except for a frightening couple of minutes no one was hurt. It was stressed afterwards, that the rain had made the already glass like road slippery, causing one of the team members to fall.
Although the basket ended up zigzagging down the road, there were no major problems.
According to Armando Vieira, President of the Association, “everything is fine with the staff and tourists, no one was hurt.” Today, is very busy as 14,000 cruise ship passengers have arrived in Funchal.
Another daily publication asked, if the tobogganists were being given enough time to rest during the day.
