Several flights were affected by a non-disclosed problem at the airport this morning. A Ryanair flight, from Porto to Funchal, was left circling Madeiran airspace, while a TAP flight was diverted to Porto Santo.
A third aircraft, a Swiftair cargo plane also had to circle.
Journalists were unable to find out what the problem was as the airport was operating normally.
