The Ajuda a Alimentar Cães Association secured the adoption of 670 rescued dogs and cats in 2024.
In a press release posted on their Facebook page, the non-profit organisation dedicated to animal welfare revealed that 361 dogs and 309 cats “rescued from cruel situations” were given a new home last year. “This is not just a number. This is much more than a number. They are animals and souls saved.
“It’s a lot of work, a lot of struggle, and a lot of dedication,” recalls Ajuda a Alimentar Cães (Help to Feed Dogs), lamenting the lack of public support at a time when the association has “a lot of debts.”
Concluding they added:
We would be able to do much more if we had the support we deserve from those who should really be supporting. We ended the year without having received the support of the Government, despite having already signed the protocol. We have a lot of debts in the clinics. So the pace of our work has slowed down and will be so until we can pay. Animals continue to need us more and more, but we feel limited.Association Helps to Feed Dogs.
To help the association you can either adopt a rescued animal or contact them and make a donation. Any help is always gratefully appreciated.
