Falésia Market at Leroy Merlin

Local artisans have until the 15th, the opportunity to participate in Falésia Market, which takes place at the Leroy Merlin Funchal store, as part of a partnership with Falésia Atelier.

The initiative started last October aiming to create a monthly mini eco-market, promoting the circular economy, and appealing to more conscious and ecological consumption and practices.

It is a showcase of brands that, according to a statement, that describes the event, “excel in the use of biodegradable raw materials, waste reduction, product reuse, promotion, recyclable and reusable packaging, recycling of materials and artisanal and local products.”

“Leroy Merlin opens its doors once again to local artisans for a Christmas market in partnership with Falésia Atelier. At the same time, we have several initiatives such as workshops and free show cookings with the theme of Christmas and also the arrival of Father Christmas on the 8th of December at 11:00 am,” highlights Emanuel Gonçalves, community animator at Leroy Merlin Funchal

In total, there are more than 30 brands and stalls, which throughout this period will have a ‘showcase’ in the store. Gastronomy, wood products to macramés, from handmade jewellrey to ceramics, toys to ecological cleaning products, among many others. The fair is open from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm and Sundays from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

According to Carlota Gouveia, project manager at Falésia Atelier, “Falésia Market has been very well accepted by visitors and is an asset for many brands and artisans to exhibit their product and/or talents. In this special Christmas edition, there will be a rotation of brands, giving space to more than 3 dozen artisans with many options for Christmas gifts for children and adults, without forgetting the traditional Christmas feeling. We will also have, with the participation of 4 social institutions, a very symbolic way to contribute to a more supportive and welcoming Christmas to those who need it most.”

Throughout the period there will also be several free workshops on the creation of sustainable decorative pieces, Christmas frames and candles, and Christmas nativity scenes. Inside Leroy Merlin Funchal, on Saturday mornings, it will also be the stage for Christmas show cooking and food tasting.

“Falésia Market’s initiatives in partnership with Leroy Merlin Funchal will continue throughout 2025. We invite artisans and brands with more conscious and ecological products to send us a presentation of their work to geral@falesia-atelier.pt and we will be happy to carefully analyse all submissions to participate.” Added Carlota Gouveia.
