The Mayor of Funchal presented, earlier this afternoon, the ‘Funchal Christmas’ programme, which starts on the 25th of November and ends on the 6th of January.
On Monday, the 25th at 5:30 pm, Praça do Peixe, located at the market is the stage for a ‘Christmas Magic musical.’
The Christmas village starts on the 29th and will have a French carousel as a novelty, to the delight of children, and the train will have an especially adapted carriage for those suffering from mobility problems.
In a statement, the Mayor of Funchal, Cristina Pedra said:
“This is the last Christmas village of this executive and it has to be big!”
The mayor stressed that the programme is designed for the whole family to enjoy.
The ice rink at Almirante Reis opens from the 30th of November until the 6th of January. Christmas fairs will also be held on the first three Sundays of December, at the Farmers Market.
