The CDU will promote in Funchal the holding of a ‘Public Tribune’ that aims to serve as a protest against corruption. The initiative will take place next to the São Lourenço Palace, on Avenida Zarco, on Monday the 23rd of September at 17:30.
“In addition to the call for the necessary continuation of all efforts to ascertain the facts and responsibilities in the ongoing investigation processes, this tribune also aims to demand the taking of measures, for decades demanded by the CDU, to combat situations of promiscuity in which holders of public office and political decision-makers move to private companies, and mix functions of institutional representation and the public interest with private business.”
“The ‘Public Tribune’ will be open to the entire population, in which several political interventions are planned that will give voice to the protest against the regime, give expression to criticism of the governance of the PSD and its allies, and will manifest the urgency of another course and another policy for the Autonomous Region of Madeira.”
For the CDU, “what the ‘Ab Initio’ process confirms is the level of putrefaction of PSD governance in this Region. The undeniable demonstration of the moral rottenness of the political regime is thus highlighted.”
“What stands out is that we live under a regime in which corruption is ‘state policy creating the deepest promiscuity between the business world and governance, of the absolute fusion between political power and the big economic and financial interests.”
