Data from the Idealista portal reveals that, in one year, house prices in Madeira have risen by 19%, and buying a house in the Region, at the moment, exceeds 3 thousand euros per square metre.
In August 2023, buying a house in Madeira cost of 3,114 euros per square metre, a figure that rose 1.9%.
Prices have increased the most in Ponta do Sol with price increases in the region of 29.4%, followed by São Vicente (28.1%), Calheta (19.4%), Santa Cruz (19.2%), Ribeira Brava (18.8%), Funchal (14.4%), Câmara de Lobos (10.9%) and Santana (1.3%).
Calheta remains the most expensive place to buy a property with average square metre values of 3,439. This is then followed by Funchal (3,428 euros/m2), Ponta do Sol (2,959 euros/m2), Ribeira Brava (2,626 euros/m2), Câmara de Lobos (2,423 euros/m2), Santa Cruz (2,203 euros/m2), Porto Moniz (2,054 euros/m2), São Vicente (2,033 euros/m2) and Santana (1,461 euros/m2).
In Porto Santo, the cost of housing increased by 5.3% during the same period with the average property priced at 2,343 euros/m2.
