From January – July 2024, SANAS Madeira was involved in a total of 74 missions, assisted 15 people with minor injuries, rescued seven critical victims, and sailed more than 1350 nautical miles in a total of 287 hours on mission.
A press release highlights the sailors that “for reasons of damage were towed or accompanied to safe port, the companions who were transshipped along with the slightly injured in the various evacuations carried out and the addition of the pre-hospital emergency forces embarked, a number that already reaches 105 people on board the lifeboats of the Madeiran Association for Relief at Sea in 2024.”
