CDS Proposals Added To Government Programme

The CDS Parliamentary Group in ALRAM is pleased to see the implementation of five proposals resulting from the negotiation between the party and the Madeiran Executive in the new version of the Regional Government Programme.

Centrist deputy Sara Madalena says she wants “to put aside politicking and take advantage of the historic moment that makes it possible to insert proposals from all parties in the Government Programme, in pursuit of what is best for the Madeiran population.”

“The parliamentary group of the CDS PP Madeira is pleased to see integrated in the new version of the Government Programme that will go to the plenary discussion tomorrow, the 4th of July, in addition to those already contained in the 1st version, the negotiations carried out by the party’s representation with the executive, led to the insertion of five more that, if included will determine a better quality of life for the Madeirans, conditions for their settlement on their land, namely through better wages, which compensate for the investment in academic training, in the acquisition of their own home under fair conditions and in collaboration with the most needy, especially with regard to the acquisition of medicines.

As reported by the Diário de Notícias da Madeira, the concrete measures included in the Government Programme are:

1- To make arrangements with the Assembly of the Republic and the Government of the Republic to try to implement a 25% increase in the exemption from IMT and Stamp Duty applicable to the purchase of their first permanent home, by young people up to the age of 35.

2- Promote the participation of the Autonomous Region of Madeira in the Anti-Corruption Agenda defined at the national level, ensuring the necessary means and procedures.

3-Study of mechanisms to facilitate the acquisition, by entrepreneurs of the various sectors, of Madeiran products that use the “Madeira Product” brand.

4- To continue the support aimed at the most vulnerable population, namely the attribution of eventual subsidies to people in need, the attribution of technical aid and also to strengthen the allocation of support for the acquisition of medicines, studying the opportunity to create a regional complement for the acquisition of medicines.

5- To Sara Madalena, leader of the CDS PP parliamentary group, hopes that politicking will be put aside and the historic moment that makes it possible to insert proposals from all parties into the Government Programme, in pursuit of what is best for the Madeiran population.
