They arrived on Monday morning, and yesterday, approximately six dozen Judiciary Police inspectors returned to the mainland aboard a C-390 Portuguese Air Force transport plane.
It should be recalled that on Tuesday the Judicial Police were involved in Operation Traveller’s Route II’, which arose following another previous investigation.
Elements of the National Anti-Corruption Unit (UNCC) and the Criminal Investigation Department of Madeira were mobilized for this operation, with the PJ also having the support of the Portuguese Air Force.
As JM Online previously reported, and contrary to what was expected, those arrested in the scope of this operation ended up not going to the mainland but, instead, will undergo a preliminary hearing at the Criminal Investigation Court of Funchal.
