The Regional Health Service informs, that as of today the Urgent Care Services of the Health Centres of Santana, Porto Moniz, Ribeira Brava, and Câmara de Lobos will operate 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
The extension of opening hours aims to ensure adequate access to health care, avoiding the travel of patients to the hospital emergency department and people should only visit the A & E department when all care possibilities through their health care centre have been exhausted.
With this change, there are currently eight Health Centres in the Autonomous Region of Madeira with an Urgent Care Service operating 24 hours a day in addition to the above: Calheta, Machico, São Vicente and Porto Santo.
