A French couple aged 58 and 56 years old have been missing since yesterday in the Calhau area in São Vicente.
The couple were last seen at 3:45 pm yesterday on Avenida Marcos Marques Rosa in Sítio do Calhau walking towards Porto Moniz.
Describing the couple, the Public Security Police has released this description.
“The man is 1.80m, and was last seen wearing a grey jacket and baggy blue tracksuit bottoms, while his partner whose height is said to be 1.69m, was wearing a blue sports jacket and carrying a pink backpack.”
This evening (17th of March) various emergency personnel were carrying out a search mission in the area. The operation involved members of the Search, Rescue, and Mountain Rescue Brigade, officers from the Porto Moniz and São Vicente Police Stations, as well as SANAS operatives.
The Madeira Regional Command of the Public Security Police asks anyone who may know the whereabouts of this couple to contact the Porto Moniz PSP Police Station on 291 853 361.
