A recent JM article shows that more and more Asian employees are working in the region, mainly in restoration and civil construction work.
The phenomenon is new, but bosses and unions assure JM that the practice is working, as it creates diversity, and fills gaps in manpower.
Further studies show that Indian nationals play an important role in the region’s cultural diversity, and are now in the top 10 most represented nationalities in Madeira. Moreover, the region is now home to more Nepalese and Pakistani citizens.
