Porto Santo has, as of today, a new direct operation from Oslo, Norway.
The new SAS connection is scheduled for Saturdays, with the airline using an Airbus A180neo, which can carry 300 plus passengers.
In all, the airline will fly 17 scheduled flights until the 13th of April 2024 and account for 3,060 seats in total.
With the new Norwegian operation, Porto Santo will see an upsurge of visitors. The island is popular with Danish tourists since 2016, with flights from Copenhagen and Billund.
The operation has the support of the Madeira Promotion Association and is promoted by the Vila Baleira Group. Further partners include Vila Baleira Porto Santo, Vila Baleira Suites, Hotel Porto Santo & SPA, INATEL Porto Santo, and Sociedade de Desenvolvimento do Porto Santo (Porto Santo Golf).
The president of the Madeira Promotion Association and the Regional Secretary for Tourism and Culture considers that the connections from Norway are a very significant contribution to Porto Santo’s economy, especially as the flights are scheduled for off-peak seasons.
