This morning, the first 2023 Farmers’ Market Christmas Fair opened. This is a yearly initiative that takes place on the first three Sundays of December showcasing different themes.
The theme chosen for the start of the event was ‘Fashion, Accessories and Decoration,’ and throughout the day visitors could take the opportunity to enjoy a little festive shopping from one of the 42 exhibitors.
Cristina Pedra, Vice-President of Funchal City Council (CMF), who was present at the opening, says that the expectation is to have more visitors than last year.
“The truth is that this is already a reference for many artisans. We have 42 people installed here, two more than last year, and today is also cruise day so a greater affluence of visitors is expected. This is exactly what we want as we would like to beat our estimated sales target of 25 thousand euros, per Sunday.”
The fair, which remains open until 21:00, will host its Christmas Delicacies Day on the 10th of December, and on the 17th, there will be a thematic fair.
