A landslide occurred in the Espigão area in Ribeira Brava today, scaring the local population.
Boulders, stones, and dust plummeted down a steep escarpment close to agricultural land, and luckily, no physical harm to property or people occurred.
It does not, however, invalidate the fact that the population is apprehensive and very concerned about the constant instability in that area, fearing the emergence of other landslides that could cause other catastrophic damage to the local area.
One resident, who did not want to be identified, said that it was time for the competent authorities to step in and allay the fears of the local population.
