A 23-year-old tourist was rescued today after falling into the sea in the area of Poça das Lesmas, Seixal.
According to SANAS Madeira, the man “clung onto a circular bouy while waiting to be rescued by a team from the Porto Moniz Lifeguard Station, Atlântico 1.”
After he was rescued, the tourist was brought ashore at Cais do Seixal where an ambulance from the Volunteer Firefighters of São Vicente and Porto Moniz was waiting to transport him to a hospital unit.
This operation was coordinated by MRSC Funchal and the Regional Civil Protection Service, IP-RAM.
