Madeira Airport will carry out a full-scale emergency exercise during the early hours of the 8th of November, between 01:00 and 05:00.
In a press release, a spokesperson for the airport confirmed that this full-scale emergency exercise is in line with the recommendation of EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency), concerning the conduct of exercises, time assessment, coordination, execution of evacuation and rescue carried out by internal means and by external entities.
“In this exercise, the Madeira Airport Emergency Plan will be activated, involving all emergency service personnel working at the airport. With this, there will be a lot of movement, noise, and flashing lights around the airport as rescue and emergency vehicles and personnel react to different scenarios.”
