A tourist was at risk of losing her leg after being hit by a rock while seated inside her car in Ribeira da Janela.
The injuries suffered from the impact made many fear the worst. She was immediately aided by her husband, a doctor, the Volunteer Firefighters of São Vicente and Porto Moniz, and the EMIR.
With such severe injuries, many thought that she would lose her leg. Fortunately, the prompt action of the doctors and an emergency operation ensured that the leg did not need to be amputated.
