The vaccination campaign against influenza and Covid-19, which began on the 25th of September for health professionals and, officially, on the 2nd of October for the entire general population, already has administered 16,700 flu vaccines and 5,900 inoculations against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
During a press interview, Pedro Ramos, the Regional Secretary for Health and Civil Protection confirmed that Madeira was the first region in the country to move forward with the campaign.
“It is an open campaign, and you can have both vaccinations together (one in each arm). He went on to say that pharmacies are reimbursed 37% of the overall cost which equates to 8 euros.
SESARAM has invested about half a million euros in the acquisition of 50 thousand flu vaccines and 52 thousand Covid-19 vaccines.
