Christopher Kozek, brother of the 35-year-old Polish ultramarathon runner who disappeared over two years ago, remains optimistic that he will find his sibling. This, he says, is because, despite the time that has elapsed, all new information gleaned from each successive visit is bringing him closer and closer to finding his brother’s body.
Michal Kozek disappeared on the 7th of July 2021. After telling his wife that he was off mountain training, he left his hotel in Porto Moniz at 19:15. The training was to take place between Calheta and Porto Moniz, and from then on, the athlete, who lived in Switzerland with his wife and children, was not seen again, despite the efforts of his brother and search and rescue teams.
Despite comprehensive searches, Christopher Kozek refuses to give up on his brother. He says that he has gathered more information on his brother and remains ever hopeful, even though he has walked the route dozens of times and has been admitted to hospital with exhaustion.
