Hospital Suffers Cyber Attack

SESARAM has announced that from today, the 8th of August all hospitals, and health centres will return to normalcy.

“In the case of the hospital  Dr. Nélio Mendonça and Hospital dos Marmeleiros all scheduled non-urgent clinical activity related to external consultations will resume. The only exception will be the performance of non-urgent analyses and examinations. However, both hospitals will still have some restrictions, and only urgent and safe surgical procedures will be carried out.

Likewise, health centres will be operating normally, except for analysis, some examinations, and vaccinations.

The Regional Health Service further urges everyone who has to attend a consultation at any of the SESARAM health units to take with them all the clinical information they have, including examination reports, clinical analysis, and medication.

Telephone communications have been re-established to both the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital and Hospital João de Almada.

Finally, SESARAM stated that it was committed to minimising the effects of the cyberattack, while its Board of Directors offered their thanks to all healthcare professionals for adapting and adjusting to the provisional plan due to the situation.
