“One of Madeira’s strategic priorities is renewable energies and our future is water” stated the President of Madeira earlier today. “As such 50% of our electricity should come from renewable energies and the timescale is 2025.”
While visiting the Dr. Rui Rebelo Hydroelectric Exploitation system, in Paul da Serra, the President highlighted the project’s innovation and congratulated the Madeira Electricity Company.
“This is one of the most innovative projects developed in Europe and in our country. It is one of the largest works that has been carried out in the field of hydraulics in Portugal and results from the engineering capacity of the electricity company.”
