The first phase of the contract for the construction of the Madeira Concert Hall has been awarded to RIM – Engenharia Construções, SA, for €1,638,984. The new venue will be built next to the Funchal Port roundabout and cost a total of twenty million euros.
During a meeting, the President of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque expressed his concern over the acoustics, and how they will affect the quality of future recordings.
That is, one person said if people can stand the smell of fish and noise from the harbour!
