Albuquerque: Do Not Criticise Tourism

The President of the Regional Government insists that people are working themselves into a frenzy over the occasional cases of indiscipline on the part of tourists.

Speaking this morning, his reaction comes after the a week of horror at the regions tourist spots, where tour operators have demanded that there are more police and rules with regard to parking at the island’s hotspots, the President said that people liked to “self-flagellate.”

Also asked to comment on whether the Region will follow national measures regarding the intention to open museums on weekends, Albuquerque says it is a matter to be studied, although he considers that the lack of human resources and the costs that arise do not make the measure a priority.
