A well-known businessman was rescued by a group of tourists today.
A group of tourists visiting the Pico Castelo area of Porto Santo avoided a tragedy due to their prompt action and the hard work of the EMIR medical team, firefighters, and PSP, who all played a part in helping the man, who was visibly altered and in distress.
The man was initially hospitalised at the Porto Santo Health Centre. Once stabilised, he was flown to Madeira by the Portuguese Air Force and admitted to the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.
