ARAE Seize Goods

Despite successive inspections and seizures, street vendors continue to commit illegalities, through the selling of items without any type of license.

Today, in a joint operation with the GNR, Regional Authority for Economic Activities (ARAE) inspectors seized more than 100 articles for sale, as well as identifing those selling without a licence.

In recent weeks, the  (ARAE) has carried out several operations of this kind, always with identical results. The sellers, mostly foreigners, continue to trade without a licence. The situation is growing in the city and is causing a social uproar.

That said, others have stated that these street vendors are offering value for money when it comes to fruits and vegetables, as opposed to the inflated prices of the official markets.
