With an increase in tourism comes an increase in the pressure on the island’s infrastructure, especially when it comes to parking, as is the case in Pico do Areerio.
Friday morning was no exception, when traffic jams and queues made it virtually impossible for tour buses to move let alone park due to badly parked cars in popular tourist areas.
Despite constant warnings, the placement of signage, and the increase in the number of parking spaces, places like Pico and Ponto São Lourenço are becoming a parking nightmare.
